An official of Binance, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who was arrested and locked by the Nigerian Government has escaped from a police study in Abuja.
According to Premium Times, the 38-year-old Anjarwalla was able to beat security checks after pretending to go observe his Ramadan prayers at a nearby mosque.
Recalled that, two Binance executives was arrested and detained for alleged tax evasion and other offences, one of the two suspects managed to escape trial despite losing his British passport to security officials.
“We are working with neighboring countries on getting him back to face trials”, authorities told the reporter
When contacted Sunday night, the Head of Strategic Communication at the Office of the National Security Adviser, Zakari Mijinyawa, said he would find out and get back. He never did.
Mr Anjarwalla, Binance’s Africa regional manager, and one Tigran Gambaryan, an American national, were detained upon their arrival in Nigeria on February 26, 2024.
