Nigeria’s national currency, the Naira, has continued to depreciate on the black market as it traded on Friday at N713/$1 compared to N718/$1 recorded on Thursday.
Many Nigerians prefer to exchange foreign currency, particularly dollars to Naira, on the black market since the conversion rate is much higher than what the bank offers.
The black market rate for dollars is frequently higher than the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The CBN Exchange rate is the rate at which you can purchase or sell dollars for Naira on the CBN dollar-to-naira CBN portal
The official exchange rate set by the apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) still remains at N415.37 to sell US dollars and N415.87 to buy USD with Naira, as of July 29, 2022.
