DW Correspondent Released From Prison In Niger

A DW correspondent was detained on January 23 in Niger’s capital, Niamey. On May 8, after 105 days in custody, he was provisionally released.
His detention followed a report published by DW Hausa on January 15, 2026.
Throughout his detention, DW remained in close contact with his family and a local law firm. The proceeding against him is still pending.
