Eagle Chaplain Extends Support To OYSG On Traffic Management
As a way of ensuring free flow of traffic, crowd control and disaster management across Oyo state, the Eagle Chaplain Corps (ECC) has disclosed that they are ready to assist the state government in this regard.
This disclosure was made by the Commandant General of ECC, Chaplain Sylvester Obi at the week-end during the group’s event tagged “Flying off Flag and Award Day” ceremony held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The CG while declaring that the group has successfully worked in other states such as Delta and Rivers in the areas of traffic control, maintenance of peace and order, environmental management and crowd control, noted that his men are ready to join other security agencies in ensuring that people sleep with their two eyes closed in the state.
“We are appealing to this state government to give us the opportunity. We have done the work as environment marshals in Rivers and Delta state and other states.
“We want to serve selflessnessly, we want to assist other security agencies in the state because we believe that the security job is a job of everybody.
“We are appealing to the state government to give us your support; moral, financial support so that we can succeed.
“We are ready to assist in the areas of crime control, traffic control, crowd control and environmental management. We have done it in other states and we are ready in Oyo state, we want Governor Abiola Ajimobi to give us the support, give us the opportunity and we are ready to do the work.
“We started it in 2009 here in Ibadan. It was dully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and then we established in Delta State. Today, ECC is in all the thirty six states of the federation. Eagle Chaplain Corps cut across all religion both Christian and Muslim and our principal aim is to reform the society”.
State Commandant of the group, Chaplain Mario Titus, while corroborating the CG noted that security of life and property was not for only uniformed men.
According to him, “Security is not only for uniform people, it is for everybody in the society who are willing to give information to the uniform people. So information to take to the grassroots, giving primary data on information gathering, so my men are trained to have primary data and every needs that are challenging the security.
“Our role is to produce or to give primary data which other security agencies are lacking and it is a big issue to security, a primary data and information is power. And my men are trained this aspect”.
Present at the event are the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiy Abubakri Agbotomokekere and NTA Ibadan Zonal Director, Mrs Jennifer Famosipe who was represented by Mr Abdulrafu Kamaldeen. The duo and others were awarded for their contributions to the society by the organization.
