ECOBA Lagos Elects New Executive

The members of Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Lagos Branch on Sunday elected a new Executive committee to steer the affairs of the Association in the next two years.

The election was sequel to the expiration of the tenure of the last Executive Committee led by Senator Kassim Oyofo.
Mr. Godwin Ize-Iyamu who was unanimously elected the new Chairman of the Association is the Deputy Managing Director of Integrated Energy Marketing and Distribution Company Ltd. Prior to his current appointment; he served as an Executive Director of Finance & Strategy of FinBank Plc, Executive Director, Institutional Banking of United Bank for Africa from 2004 to March 10, 2010. He was also Executive Director in charge of Wholesale Banking North at United Bank for Africa. Prior to joining the banking industry. He was a serving Exco member as Vice Chairman.
Other members of the Executive Committee are Mr. Aigbe Olotu (Deputy Chairman), Barrister Tony Nwaochei (General Secretary), Ahuose  Akhigbe (Assistant Secretary), Mr. Charles Isa (Financial Secretary), Mr. Martins Ebuehi (Treasurer), Mr. Charles Igbinidu (Publicity Secretary) and —– (Legal Adviser).
In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Mr. Charles Igbinidu, noted that the Committee was immediately inaugurated by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee AVM. Joe Ehigie who commended members of the association for their maturity during the elections.
In his inaugural remarks, Mr. Ize-Iyamu commended Ecobites for the confidence reposed in him. He promised to re-energize the Association and to take it to a higher pedestal. Specifically, he promised to establish a closer relationship between the Association and the Parents teachers Association of Edo College and also to revitalize the Family and Ancient days. 
  
Earlier, the meeting agreed to commence the presentation of prizes to outstanding students of Edo College in different subjects from the present academic session.
Edo College is a secondary grammar school in Benin City, Nigeria, the oldest in the Mid-Western Region. It was established in February, 1937. 
Since, its establishment, Edo College’s greatest strength has been the superior quality of its products. The school produces well-grounded and rounded students. The school does not only turn out products that excel academically but also in character. This is why Edo College is great and these attributes are reflected in its motto “knowledge and wisdom”
