Edo Election: Davido Tackles Police Over Directive Urging Voters To Return Home After Voting

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opposed the recommendation for voters to return home immediately after casting their ballots in the ongoing Edo State gubernatorial election.

Davido shared his views in response to a statement made by Frank Mba, the Deputy Inspector General of Police overseeing election security.

During an interview with Channels Television on Saturday morning, Mba urged Edo residents to fulfill their civic duty by voting and then returning home immediately.

He also announced a restriction on vehicular movement in the state from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day.

Mba stated, “If you’re not accredited to participate in the election, you shouldn’t be on the streets. Cast your vote and return home; it’s your civic duty.”

However, Davido, who is aligned with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressed disagreement, suggesting that voters should go home after voting.
