Eid-El-Fitr: Fashola Preaches Peace, Love And Unity Among Nigerians

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), has urged peace, love and unity among Nigerians, saying all and sundry must join hands to repair the fabric of love and oneness that binds us together.
In his annual Ramadan message, the Governor said Nigerians must close ranks and refuse to accommodate the machinations of those who seek to profit from their pains or widen the lines of division.
On issue of insecurity in the country, the governor said’ we must work together to bring an end to that”, adding, “We are all members of one nation and in spite of our diversity; we are bound by a common humanity”.
He told the Muslim faithful, “The month of Ramadan is intended to teach us how to live good and compassionate lives. It is a month of sacrifice, abstinence and above all, loves. In that respect, I encourage us to be our neighbour’s keeper. Look out for your neighbour in the firm belief that he too will look out for you”.
Expressing the hope that the lessons of Ramadan would abide beyond the month of abstinence, Governor Fashola further urged, “As we celebrate Eid-el-fitr, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast, I urge everyone, regardless of our religious beliefs, to continue to keep the peace and to live in unity with one another”.
According to statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Hakeem Bello, the Governor congratulates Muslims “for completing one of the Five Pillars of Islam” adding, “As we celebrate, let us remember that moderation is important. Let us also remember the poor and less privileged people in our midst and extend a hand of love and support to them” he added.
