The African Democratic Congress, (ADC), House of Representatives Candidate for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East Federal Constituency, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu popularly known as KSO has felicitated with Muslims in Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid – El – Kabir.
Eid-El-Kabir also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is one of the most important Islamic holidays, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
In a statement he issued on Wednesday to mark the occasion, Abidikugu said he rejoices with all Muslims both in Oyo State and in Nigeria.
He also congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa 1 and the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdul Ganiyy Agbotomokekere for successfully witnessing this year’s Eid – el- Kabir.
He prays that both the Olubadan and the Chief Imam will celebrate more of the occasions in good health and upliftment of both Ibadanland and the Islamic religion
Abidikugu, a philanthropist, and Agbakin Bobajiro of Ibadanland said he particularly greets Muslims in his Federal Constituency, Ibadan North East/ Ibadan South East , urging them to celebrate in modesty and in tolerance of other religions adherents.
He called on the Muslim fold to pray for peace and tranquility in Oyo State and in Nigeria as a whole.
Abidikugu, a grassroot mobilizer described Eid-Adha as a spiritually significant occasion rooted in faith, sacrifice and shared humanity, stressing the need for citizens to embrace tolerance and national cohesion at a time the country continues to confront economic and security challenges.
He urges the Muslims to use this period for prayer and sober reflection, asking for divine guidance upon the country as it continues its pursuit of peace, security and prosperity for every citizen.
He said the Muslims should use the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Kabir to pray for the safe return of teachers , pupils and students recently kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
“Let’s use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for end to insecurity in Oyo State and in Nigeria as a whole. We should pray fervently for the teachers, students and pupils kidnapped at Orire Local Government Area of Oyo and who are currently in bondage and in serious danger in the thick forest during this rainy season.
“My mind is with their family and relations . And we should fervently pray for their safe return.
“I also commend and support the Federal government and Oyo State government’s efforts to bring back them home safely, Abidikugu who is a United Kingdom based Psychiatric Consultant said in the statement.
