Cristobal Soria, a popular Spanish journalist has launched a scathing attack on the French Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain giants after the club suspended the superstar for travelling to Saudi Arabia unauthorised.
The development comes after PSG suspended their superstar, Lionel Messi for 2-week with no pay
Messi is estimated to lose €1.7 million for the period of suspension in the club.
Soria said the Ligue 1 champions should be thankful that a player like Messi even agreed to wear their shirt.
The Argentina superstar and World Cup winner, Messi grabbed headlines after travelling to Saudi Arabia, the country to which he is an ambassador.
He made the trip hours after PSG’s defeat to Lorient despite being required to report for training the next day, Monday.
For this reason, the French side decided to suspend the player for two weeks and banned him from using the club’s training facilities.
El Chiringuito journalist Soria, said, “One-half of Lionel Messi has more history and importance than all of PSG put together.
“Punish him? But what did you believe? PSG should be forever grateful that Messi wore their shirt and defended their crest.”
