Explosion At Shahid Rajaee Port, Iran, Kills Eight, Injures Over 100

No fewer eight people have been reportedly killed and more than 700 injured following a massive explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port, Iran’s largest commercial hub, state media reports.
The suspected chemical blast erupted on Saturday morning near the southern city of Bandar Abbas, sending shockwaves up to 50 kilometers (31 miles) away. The explosion shattered windows, tore off roofs, and destroyed cars across the area.
Dramatic videos circulating online show an intense fire rapidly escalating before the enormous blast, followed by chaos as people fled and others were seen lying wounded among smoking debris.
By Saturday afternoon, thick black smoke continued to billow from the port’s wharfs as fierce fires raged on. Helicopter crews were deployed in desperate efforts to contain the inferno, while emergency teams worked tirelessly to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
