Fathia Balogun’s Mother Dies Hours Before Actress’s Birthday Celebration

Actress Faithia Balogun-Williams has been bereaved following the passing of her mother.

The actress herself announced the shocking news on her Facebook page in the early hours of Monday, 9 February, 2026.

According to the actress, her mother died on the eve of her birthday, which took place on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at Luxury Party Event Center, with popular Fuji artiste, Pasuma Wonder on the bandstand.

However, while the grooving was going on, her mother died.

Faithia clocked 55 on Thursday, 5 February 2026, and marked the day with a praise and sing session at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja.

Below is the message she posted on her Facebook page:

Dear friends, it was my 55th birthday on Thursday, February 5. However, I chose to have a party yesterday, Sunday.

Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother died on the eve of my party, and the news was cruelly kept away from me.

The reality of her passing has not totally dawned on me because she was my cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother.

Whilst I have taken solace in Allah (SWT), the Williams’ family has decided to keep things very private for now.

Your love and prayers will mean a lot to me and my siblings this period.

Burial details will be announced later.
