Fela’s Activism Led to Untimely Death -Portable
Nigerian singer, Portable, has said that the late Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, died young because he was too busy fighting for others and did not mind his own business.
In an interview with media personality, Quincy Jonze, on the “Echoo Room” podcast, Portable said that Fela would have lived longer if he had been more focused on himself.
“According to what we were told, if Fela had minded his business a little he would have lived longer. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians wey no fight for their selves.
Also, reacting to his online feud with rapper Zlatan Ibile, Portable referred to him as the devil who caused the misunderstanding between him and Davido.
“I was in America looking for foreign artistes. I was busy displaying my madness online when Davido called me to come. Me and Davido did not quarrel until when the devil Zlatan came.”
