Popular hip-hop and Afrobeats singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has paid tribute to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun on her first posthumous birthday.
The singer made the tribute in a post on his official page on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, 4th of July, 2024.
He referred to his late mother as the love of his life, explaining how much he missed her hugs and kisses.
Wizkid tweeted, “Happy birthday love of my life! Miss you everyday. First one without you here feels unreal. Nothing makes sense without you mama! Life is empty without you. Continue to watch over us ! My heart is broken forever ! 💔 love you love love you MORAYO mi. Your smile is all a memory I will never forget. Your laugh! Your hugs and kisses. I miss you dearly! ❤️❤️”
Mrs Balogun’s death was confirmed by the artiste’s manager, Sunday Aare, who said she died in the early hours of Friday, 18th of August, 2023.
