A former North West Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-Kebbi State commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim Manzo, has formally resigned from the party.
Manzo, who previously served as Commissioner for Health, Commissioner for Agriculture, Amirul Hajj of Kebbi State, and once ran as deputy governorship candidate under the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), made his decision known in a letter dated September 16, 2025.
The letter, addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Dikko Ward, Argungu Local Government Area, and copied to both the local government and state chairmen, described his resignation as personal and carefully considered.
“I write to formally inform you of my resignation from the PDP with immediate effect. My decision is personal and based on careful considerations. I sincerely appreciate the support, cooperation, and kindness I have enjoyed from the party, its leadership, and members during my time as a member,” the letter read.
He thanked the PDP leadership at all levels, noting that his time in the party was marked by goodwill and collaboration.
Although he did not reveal his next political step, his departure adds to the list of high-profile resignations that have recently hit the PDP.
