All roads lead to the Agege Stadium, Lagos on Saturday 9 November, 2013 as Rainbow FC of Igando takes on Success FC of Epe in the final of the GOtv ‘Hood to Hood’ football championship by 1:30pm prompt.
The two teams will battle for the trophy of the maiden edition of the championship and the three hundred thousand naira (N300, 000) prize money.
Rainbow FC qualified for the finals by edging Jeventus FC of Idimu 5 -4 on penalty after a 1- 1 draw at regulation time while Success FC also, defeated Satech FC of Mushin by 4 – 3 on penalty after playing a goal-less draw in regulation time. Meanwhile, Satech FC and Jeventus FC will slug it out for the third place in the tournament by 2:00pm.
According to the general manager GOtv, Mrs Elizabeth Amkpa, at the end of the championship, the winning team will get a gold trophy and a sum of three hundred thousand, the second place will get a sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira, the third place will get one hundred thousand naira, while the fourth place will get fifty thousand naira only.
She revealed that the leading sports channel, SuperSport will be at the Agege Stadium venues of the finals for coverage of the matches and will be aired live on SuperSport Blitz on GOtv channel 31 and other SuperSport channels.
She noted that the competition has really lived-up to expectation with the different grassroot teams showcasing their talents. She added that the objective of developing the game at the grassroot level has been met.
