Heartland FC of Owerri held Sunshine Stars of Akure to a one all draw at the Akure township Stadium in Ondo State in the Nigerian Professional Football League Match day 11 fixtures.
Pascal Eze scored the curtain raiser 16 minutes into the first half for Heartland FC but Yusuf Alimat leveled the score via a spot kick in the 71st minute.
The game ended 1-1 as both sides made away with a point each.
Speaking to the Statesman NewsPaper Correspondent after the match, Heartland FC boss Fidelis Ilechukwu expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team and looks to continue picking points in their away game as they look to maintain their winning streak at home.
“A great game we had today and we thank God for this because we are expecting to start picking up points away and to win all our home games to make sure we are comfortable at the end of the season”
The draw moved Heartland Fc to 11th position from on the league table while Sunshine stars are right above Heartland at the 10th position.
Heartland will now welcome Dakkada FC at home in their next league fixture while Sunshine Stars will face Kano Pillars away from home.
