Hijrah 1448AH: APM Senatorial Candidate, Ajadi Calls For Prayers Over Insecurity, Urges Celebration With Modesty

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Senatorial Candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has urged Nigerians to intensify their prayers for political leaders and office holders so that they paddle the ship of the country to a better destination in the face of growing insecurity.

As he also felicitated with Muslims across his Senatorial District, Oyo State, and Nigeria in general on the occasion of the New Year Islamic Calendar, Hijrah 1448AH.

The Islamic New Year Calendar (Hijrah 1448AH) falls on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as Islamic days begin at sunset; the new year will commence on the evening of Monday, June 15.

To commemorate the occasion and for Muslims to have a good celebration, the Oyo State Government has declared Tuesday a public holiday across the 33 Local Government Areas of the state.

Ajadi, in a statement made available to Journalists on the occasion of this year’s Muslim New Year, said he rejoices with the Muslims within his Oyo Central Senatorial District, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Ajadi commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, for approving a public holiday in the state for Muslims to enjoy their New Year’s Day.

“This is to appreciate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for declaring the beginning of the Muslims New Year as a Public Holiday. It is a testimony to his religious tolerance and the love for his citizens with no religious discrimination”, Ajadi said in the statement.

Ajadi, a business tycoon and great philanthropist, urges Muslims to pray for the governments at the local, state, and federal levels.

He reminded them that all Holy Books called for respect and prayers for those in governance, hence calling on Nigerians, irrespective of their tribes or religions, to intensify their prayers for the political office holders in restoring the lost glory of the country.

He, in particular, charges Muslims to remember the pupils, students, and Teachers of Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State who are still in the kidnappers’ Den.

He urges the Muslims to celebrate modestly because of the continued detention of children in the thick forest for almost a month.

“Please, I urge our Muslim brothers and Sisters to use the occasion of the New Year to pray fervently for the safe return of the kidnapped victims in Orire Local Government.

“We should also pray that the Almighty Allah will continue to strengthen our governor, Seyi Makinde, as he strives day and night to get the Orire kidnapped victims released”, Ajadi said.
