The Federal Government through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) earlier this week gave telecommunications operators in the country two weeks ultimatum to block all Subscriber Identity Module or Subscriber Identification Module (SIMs) cards that are not registered and linked with the National Identity Numbers (NIN).
Here are the steps to link your phone number (MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile and Glo Number) with your NIN.

Dial *785# and get it done in few seconds
Visit https://mtnonline.com/nim/ using your phone or computer
Complete the NIN linking form by entering your name, phone number, NIN, and email address.
Submit the form as soon as you’re done.
Wait for feedback from the network.
1. Dial *121*1#
2. Type your NIN and send.
You will receive a confirmation message for your submission.
You can now link your National Identification Number (NIN) to your mobile number as a Glo subscriber.
Simply send “UPDATENIN NIN FirstName and LastName” to 109.
