The immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has refuted claims suggesting his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Ganduje described reports that he joined the ADC as fake news.
On June 27, Ganduje resigned as the National Chairman of the APC, citing health issues.
Ganduje, a former governor of Kano State, became the APC’s National Chairman on August 3, 2023, at an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.
Two months after he resigned as APC National Chairman, there are reports that Ganduje and his followers plan to leave the APC to join ADC.
However, Ganduje’s spokesman, Edwin Olofu, assured that the former Kano State governor remains loyal to President Bola Tinubu.
Addressing reporters on Saturday, Olofu said Ganduje has no plans to abandon the ruling party.
He said, “Ganduje is a committed member of the APC who is not just a loyal party man but also loyal to the President and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
“So, ignore those saying he is planning to leave the APC. It is just fake news.”
