‘I Don’t Accept That Bandits Are Untraceable’ – Buratai

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai, has asserted that the Nigerian military possesses the ability to track down bandits, given its proficiency in locating everyday citizens.

Gunmen had whisked away schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State and later beheaded one of the teachers.

Speaking on the development, Buratai, in an interview on TVC, admitted that the Nigerian troops have the capacity to rescue the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers.

He said, “I don’t believe security agencies cannot locate bandits if they can locate ordinary citizens and social media influencers.

“However, I would not like to say a capacity building challenge, but I think they may have their reasons, but what I know is that there must be capacity building of all the security agencies.

“We need more troops to be recruited, more operatives, more policemen need to be recruited, trained, and retrained.”
