I Made A Mistake By Sacking Thomas Tuchel, Says Boehly

The Chelsea owners, Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital, have admitted they might have made a mistake in sacking Thomas Tuchel last September, according to the Daily Mail.

Tuchel was fired after only a few games this season by the co-ownership tenure of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

Almost immediately, Boehly brought in Graham Potter from Premier League rivals Brighton.

Potter has since been dismissed too after seven months in charge.

Although the relationship with Tuchel was never going to work long term, in retrospect, it is accepted that it might have been better to retain the German coach for a season for a more orderly transition.

The Americans also harbour a feeling that they overcompensated in appointing Potter because he was so adept at working with the executives and owners.

Frank Lampard was put in interim charge of the Blues, while a deal has been agreed with Mauricio Pochettino to become the new permanent boss.
