A former Governor of Kano State, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
A statement by his media aide, Sule Ya’u Sule, Tuesday, confirmed the development in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust.
“I want to confirm to you that Shekarau has decided to defect from PDP to APC due to the injustice meted on him and his supporters by the leadership of the PDP,” Sule said.
He also confirmed that Shekarau has met with the governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje on his move to the APC.
“My boss met with Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in Abuja yesterday and concluded plan for our return to APC. He will meet with all the stakeholders concerned in Kano before going public on the defection,” he added.
