
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday declared Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Rivers Governorship Election.
Teddy Adias, the Chief Returning Officer of the election, declared on Wednesday after the collation of votes at the INEC office in Port Harcourt.
Wike polled a total of 886,264 votes to defeat Biokpomabo Awara of the African Action Congress (AAC), who had 173,859 votes with a margin of 712,405 between the two candidates.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) suspended the collation of the results of the election in the state on March 10, citing electoral violence.
