ionigeria’s Publisher, Igbinidu, Conferred with ECOBITE of the Year

The publisher/editor-in-chief of ionigeria.com and Managing Director of Africa’s frontline PR agency, TPT international Mr. Charles Igbinidu, was at the weekend, honoured by Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Lagos Branch.

An astute media and marketing communications practitioner, Igbinidu was conferred with the association’s prestigious ECOBITE of the Year Award at this year’s edition of the association’s annual dinner/dance celebration held inside Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
Conferring the Award on the renowned media/PR practitioner at the fun-filled event, the Chairman of College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Lagos Branch, Senator Victor Kassim Oyofo  who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Mr. Godwin Ize-Iyamu, stated that the award was conferred on Igbinidu “in recognition of his contribution and support to the association and its activities,” adding that “We are also pleased with your service to the growth and development of ECOBA, Edo College, and as a successful media practitioner and publisher in Nigeria.”
An outstanding and passionate professional, Igbinidu has distinguished himself as an erudite marketing communications and media practitioner with strong knack for potency and effervescent results. He’s known to have helped grown notable products to world brands through strategic communications and top notch PR solutions.
Igbinidu attended the prestigious Edo College between 1979 and 1983. Upon graduation he proceeded to University of Benin where he studied Political Science graduating in flying colours in 1989. He’ll complement his bachelor’s degree with a Post-Graduate Certificate at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism before commencing his professional media career at The Guardian in 1991.
He committed two years into active journalism before moving on to Insight Communications where he kick-started his illustrious career in the field of marketing communications where he has distinguished himself as one of Africa’s top Public Relations strategist. He has since continued to garner international recognition and accolades on all fronts. Just recently, he was recognized and appointed member of the Global Advisory Council of the World Brand Congress – the single largest rendezvous of best brains behind some of the worlds most successful and sought after brands.
Renowned for his result-focused orientation, as well as his close working relationship with the media, influencers, decision makers, politicians, and celebrities, Charles Igbinidu is the publisher/editor-in-chief of ionigeria.com (an online publication that provides credible, reliable, balanced and all-inclusive information and news about Nigeria, Africa and the world).
Aside having served as the Publicity Secretary of Edo College Old Boys Association (ECOBA), Lagos Branch for four consecutive years, Charles Igbinidu has also served in the association’s Dinner/Dance Committee for over a decade.
A member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Charles Igbinidu was honoured alongside two other renowned alumnus of Edo College, Chief (Captain) Samuel Ohioman, a pioneer pilot in Nigeria and Dan Akpovwa, a distinguished journalist who were honoured with Life time Achievement Award and ECOBITE of the Year award respectively.
