Isa Pantami To Sue Publications Over Alleged Terror Watch List


Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami has threaten to sue news publishers who published a fake news that he is under United States terrorists watchlist for his ties with Boko Haram insurgents.


NewswireNGR, and other online platforms had earlier on Monday published a fake story of the minister’s ties with Boko Haram insurgents.
Isa Pantami’s name has been trending on the bird app, Twitter since earlier Monday which has generated reactions causing damage to his reputation and image.


In a series of tweets on Twitter, the minister acknowledged the retraction by the online publication but threaten legal action against the publisher for defamation of character.


The minister denied any link with Boko Haram insurgents as reported and circulated online.
The minister said he has been preaching against the doctrines of Boko Haram and similar groups, endangering his life in the process.
