The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, as the winner of the governorship election in the state.
Bello was returned elected on Monday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having scored the highest number of votes in the keenly contested poll.
The Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Umar, made the declaration at the INEC office in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.
APC: 406,222 votes
PDP: 189,704 votes.
SDP: 9,482 votes.
