Former Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwakwanso, on Tuesday joined the Lagos State Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr, Jimi Agbaje, in a visit to the Serikin Hausawa of Agege, Lagos.
A tumultous crowd thronged the venue to serenade the Kwankwanso, the apostle of Kwankwansiya, who came with the PDP flagbearer and his Running Mate, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Haleemat Busari.
His Royal Highness, Alhaji Musa Dogonkadai, prayed for the duo as well as the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The former Kano Governor urged the Hausa community to support the PDP ticket down the line from the Lagos State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship and the Presidency.
According to Agbaje, the non-indigenes in Lagos constituted irrepressible stakeholders in the state and stood to benefit from a government of PDP as epitomised by him and his partner, Mrs. Busari.
Agbaje said that time had come for Lagos to cut itself loose from the reprehensive rule of a cartel that had held the state captive for the past 20 years.
Pointing out that the state had experienced two types of civilian leadership, Agbaje said the state had enjoyed massive development in multilateral sectors under the Second Republic regime of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, while the current set of rulers had pillaged the state for their selfish interests.
The PDP leader said he represented the renaissance of the Jakande style of unselfish and developmental governance, and Lagos State under him would be rid of the negative indices that had made it about the worst of the world’s mega cities.
Pointing out that Hausa and Yoruba indigenes in Lagos had enjoyed fraternal peace these past years, Agbaje urged the Serikin Hausawa and his council to urge their people to identify with a PDP government that would cater to their interest and their welfare.
