
FC Barcelona has confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal suffered an injury to his right ankle during Sunday’s match against CD Leganés.
In a statement released by the club on Monday, Barcelona revealed the 16-year-old winger underwent medical tests on Monday, which confirmed a grade 1 injury to a ligament in his right ankle.
The club added that Yamal is expected to be out of action for approximately three to four weeks as he recovers.
The statement said, “The first team player Lamine Yamal received a blow to the right ankle during the game against CD Leganés on Sunday.

“Tests carried out on Monday have revealed that the player has a grade 1 injury to a ligament in the ankle. The player is expected to be out for 3 to 4 weeks.”
Yamal’s absence will be a significant blow for Barcelona, as the young talent has been a standout performer this season.
