Lagos Announces Traffic Diversion In Surulere

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation has appealed to residents of the State to avoid Surulere and its environs on Saturday due to the planned Presidential Campaign Rally taking place on Saturday, 9th February 2019 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere.

A statement issued on Wednesday by the Ministry said all routes linking the Teslim Balogun Stadium will be closed to traffic and advised that alternative routes like Randle Avenue, Falolu, Adeniran Ogunsanya, and Adelabu Roads should be utilised by commuters to reach their various destinations.

It noted that trucks will be restricted from entering the metropolis from Friday, February 8, in preparation for the Presidential Rally on Saturday, imploring truckers to plan their movements ahead as well as cooperate with the deployed Officers to ensure that motorists do not jeopardise the travel advisory issued for the safety and comfort of all during the event.

The release explained further that about 500 LASTMA Officials, 150 FRSC personnel and other security Agencies will be on ground to ensure the free flow of traffic in and around the axis.
