A Domestic and Sexual Violence Court sitting in Ikeja on Wednesday remanded one Dr. Olufemi Olaleye of Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, over alleged Defilement and Sexual Penetration of his wife’s niece.
The Office of the Public Defendant (OPD) had arraigned the defendant before Hon. Justice Ramon Oshodi, on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual penetration against a minor which is contrary to Sections 137 and 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
While taking into consideration the ‘Not Guilty’ plea of Olaleye before the court, Hon. Justice Ramon Oshodi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50 million with two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties must also have landed property in the state and evidence of tax payments in the last three years.
The Presiding Judge also directed that the defendant must deposit his international passport and be remanded in a correctional facility, just as he fixed the trial dates for the 19th and 21st of December, 2022.
