Lagos Politics: Politics Without Bitterness!

Lagos has been practicing politics without bitterness since 1999 unlike the way things are in other states.

It will be recalled that, during the administration of former governor, Babatunde Fashola in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje and Fashola met at many occasions and exchange pleasantries with one another as if nothing ever happened.

Because Agbaje is known to be a man of integrity and with western world styles of politics, when election campaign is on, he would campaign whoever wins, wins and life goes on.

Agbaje never made any bitterness utterances against anyone after election even after losing a lot of money into elections since 2006. He maintains calmness at all time. I know Agbaje to be a man of policies.

His style of politics is quite different from many politicians in the country today.

Agbaje was once a member of the defunct Action Congress (AC) which then merged with CPC to form now All Progressive Party (APC). After the fallout of their agreement in 2006, he moved to Democratic People’s Alliance (DPA) where he contested for governorship and lose to the former Governor, Babatunde Fashola.

In 2014, Agbaje joined the then ruling party now opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and also lose to the present governor, Akinwunmi Ambode in 2015.

Upon all his investment in politics since 2006, he never taken any appointment from any party till today and remain calm.

In the forthcoming general elections which is billed to hold in February 2019, Agbaje will be contesting with Babajide Sanwoolu of the ruling party, All Progressive Party (APC) for the third time since 2007.

In Yorubaland, both Agbaje and Sanwoolu can be described has perfect Omo’luabi’s.

Whoever wins the election, I am confident that Lagos will be in good hands.
