LASTMA Rescue A Drunk Driver Rammed Into Road Media At Marina
The operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, on Monday morning rescued a drunk driver who rammed into a road media at C.M.S inward outer Marina area of Lagos.
In a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, the driver of a Volkswagen Space bus with registration number AAW 56 AA rammed into the road media at high speed and got trapped.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the Volkswagen Space bus lost control and rammed into the road media as a result of heavy intake of alcohol.
Immediately the accident happened, LASTMA personnel working around CMS outer Marina rushed to the accident scene and rescued the driver who was later rushed to ‘Odan’ General Hospital for medical treatment.
Police men from ‘ Lion Building’ provided security backup while LASTMA personnel recovered the trapped vehicle off the media to enable free vehicular movement inward outer Marina.
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Bakare Oki who was on a monitoring tour with top management of the Agency visited the accident scene and appealed to the motoring public not to drink while driving and to obey all traffic regulations in order to ensure safety.
