Liverpool Ends Trophy Drought with Carabao Cup Win Over Newcastle United

In a thrilling Carabao Cup final showdown at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, Newcastle United secured a momentous 2-1 victory over Liverpool, ending their 70-year trophy drought. 

The Magpies’ triumph marked their first major silverware since 1955, sparking jubilant celebrations among the Newcastle faithful.

Local hero Dan  Burn gave Newcastle a deserved lead in the 45th minute when the defender thumped in a header from a corner.

Newcastle took complete control of the match seven minutes after the break when Swedish forward Isak swept a shot past Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
