Liverpool secured their place in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain with a dominant 4-0 victory over Galatasaray at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side overturned a 1-0 first-leg deficit with a dominant display, scoring four unanswered goals to progress comfortably.
Dominik Szoboszlai set the tone in the 25th minute, finishing a well-worked set-piece to level the tie on aggregate.
Liverpool remained in control despite Mohamed Salah missing a first-half penalty, which was saved by goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.
The hosts raised intensity after the break and decided the contest within 11 minutes.
Hugo Ekitike restored momentum in the 51st minute, tapping in from close range after a precise assist from Salah.
Ryan Gravenberch made it 3-0 two minutes later, reacting quickest after Cakir denied Salah’s initial effort.
Salah then sealed the result in the 62nd minute with a long-range strike, becoming the first African player to reach 50 Champions League goals.
Galatasaray struggled to respond and had a goal ruled out for offside before Salah’s effort.
Cakir made several saves to limit further damage as Liverpool created multiple chances.
The visitors were also dealt a blow in the first half when Victor Osimhen suffered an apparent arm fracture following a collision.
The striker played on until the interval but was replaced by Leroy Sane for the second half.
Liverpool’s dominance left Galatasaray unable to recover, despite tactical adjustments from coach Okan Buruk.
The result ensures two English clubs in the quarter-finals, with Arsenal also progressing to face Sporting CP.
Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham have all been eliminated.
For Slot, it marks a first Champions League quarter-final as Liverpool now prepares for a high-profile clash against Luis Enrique’s PSG.
