May Day: Abidikugu Felicitates  Workers, Hails Their Resilience, Dedication, Diligence 

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of DAKA Foundation, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu, popularly known as KSO, has rejoiced with the workers in Nigeria and particularly in Oyo state as they celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day.

Abidikugu prays that the Almighty God will reward the workers for their resilience, dedication and diligence.

Workers’ Day in Nigeria are celebrated annually on May 1st and It is a national public holiday honouring the contributions of workers, the labour movement and promoting Workers’ rights

The government uses this day to recognize worker resilience, while unions often hold rallies to demand improved welfare, better working conditions, and economic justice. 

In a statement he personally signed on Friday Abidikugu who is also the Agba-Akin Bobajiro of Ibadanland described the workers as the pillar upon which the country’s development and progress are built.

He said the people should celebrate the workers especially in the period of this harsh economy, saying it is sad that their salaries  have been affected by the hyper inflation currently being witnessed in Nigeria.

Abidikugu who is a United Kingdom based Psychiatric Consultant called on all the workers to use the May Day to rejoice that that they are still alive despite the harsh economy.

He said they should also reflect on their resilience and spirit of oneness to pray for the leadership of the country so that God will guide them right.

He called on governments at all levels to prioritize the rights and welfare of workers 

Abidikugu who is a philanthropist further said in the statement: “I rejoice with our workers as they celebrate this year’s edition of May Day. We appreciate your contributions to the growth of our dear State, Oyo.

“I particularly celebrate your resilience, never say die spirit, dedication to duty and your steadfastness in nation building. The harsh economy no doubt has affected your purchasing power but I pray that God will restore our country’s glory and the good days will soon come.

“I use the occasion of this year’s Workers Day to call on the government at all levels to prioritize workers welfare”.
