Minister of Health Commissions Okpoko’s First-Ever General Hospital, Commends Governor Soludo

In continuation of his infrastructural advancement of the healthcare sector in Anambra State, Governor Charles Soludo has constructed the first-ever general hospital in Okpoko, in Ogabru Local Government Area of the State. At the commissioning of the hospital the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Ali Pate, commended Soludo’s focus on what benefits the majority of the people.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Sir Emeka Offor, former PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisah Metuh, and representatives from various government ministries, departments, and agencies.
While commissioning the hospital, Professor Pate eulogized Governor Soludo for his exceptional leadership in the state, particularly in the health sector, stating that he has transformed the healthcare landscape in Anambra, with the Okpoko General Hospital being a shining example.
According to a report by Mazi Ejimofor Opara, this development underscores Soludo’s commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the people of Anambra.
The hospital’s state-of-the-art facilities and equipment will undoubtedly improve healthcare services and access in the community.
Under Governor Soludo’s administration, Anambra State has witnessed significant strides in healthcare development, including the upgrade of primary healthcare centres and the construction of new general hospitals.
Also, Soludo was recently awarded the best-performing governor in primary healthcare delivery in the Southeast and Nigeria, overall. This was presented by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the United Nations Children and Education Fund (UNICEF).
Governor Soludo’s innovative leadership also earned Anambra State the fourth position in the recent evaluation of BudgIT’s State of States 2024 Report for overall fiscal performance and sustainability.
The BudgIT’s ranking reflects Anambra State’s exceptional performance in both fiscal and healthcare metrics. The feat came at a time when many States were struggling with fiscal sustainability and healthcare delivery challenges, and it attests to Soludo’s thriving model of fiscal responsibility, credible leadership, healthcare, and economic management prowess.
