MOHBAD: How Lagos Police Arrested Sam Larry
The Lagos State Police Command, announced the arrest of controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, popularly known as Sam Larry, on Thursday night, relating to an ongoing investigation into the cause of death of late Singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad.
However, some details about how the popular music promoter was arrested, have emerged.
A source from the police, who pleaded anonymous as he was not authorized to speak on the matter said Sam Larry was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday evening.
The source said: “Sam Larry was arrested at the airport after he arrived from Kenya. Our officers arrested him at the airport and he was immediately taken to the state police headquarters for questioning.”
The controversial promoter’s name had featured prominently since the demand for justice over Mohbad’s death started to gain traction.
He was arrested after late Mohbad’s former music label boss, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley announced his plan to return to Nigeria if Police can guarantee his safety.
It was reported that the police had earlier invited the duo for questioning over the singer’s death.
The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists have concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while the police await the result.
Hundeyin said, “Autopsy has been concluded. Awaiting results.” This development followed the exhumation of Mohbad’s corpse by a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and health officials.
The nurse who reportedly injected the Mohbad before his demise on Tuesday, September 12, had also been arrested by the police.
