Recently the Oba Erediauwa I of Benin honoured the Nigerian popular artist Innocent Idibia widely known as Tuface, with the honourary royal beads, the event which took place at the palace of the Oba according to the PunchOnline.
He was asked if its right to address him as a chief, the singer smiled and respond, “No, I’m not a chief. He said I am Innocent Idibia. What I have received from the Oba of Benin is royal blessing. The beads will remain one of my most treasured possessions in my music career.
“As an individual, I give to God what belongs to God and to our customs and traditions, what constitutes African culture, which is sensible and practicable. I feel so blessed.” He added.
