The Nigerian Flamingos secured a spot in the final qualifying round for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup by defeating South Africa’s Bantwana 2-0 on Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne.
Nigeria qualified 5-1 on aggregate having won the first leg 3-1 in Pretoria last weekend.
The Flamingos failed to make their dominance count until the 37th minute when Harmony Chidi broke the deadlock.
Chidi slotted home expertly from inside the box.

Aishat Animashaun doubled the Flamingos’ lead 11 minutes after the break.
Bankole Olowookere’s side will face the winner of the game between Botswana and Algeria in the final round.
The winner is guaranteed a place at the U-17 Women’s World Cup which will be hosted by Morocco later in the year.
