Due to fuel scarcity in Nigeria, one of the leading telecommunications company in the country, MTN is preparing to shut down its operations in the next 24hours as the company run out of diesel.
According to a statement by the company’s Corporate Services Executive, Wale Goodluck on the twitter handle of the @MTNNG,
‘‘Most of our base stations and switches are power round-the-clock by diesel generators and the current fuel shortage has drastically reduced the availability of diesel supply to our key locations.’’
‘’MTN available reserves of diesel are running low and the company must source for significant quantity of diesel in the very near future to prevent a shutdown of services across Nigeria. If diesel supplies are not received within the next 24hours the network will be seriously degraded and customer will feel the impact.’’
‘MTN is working with all stakeholders to ensure services remain. MTN sincerely apologizes for any outages and inconveniences that may occur and seeks the understanding of customers at this time’.
