NAF Neutralises Dozens Of Terrorists in Overnight Attacks on Yobe, Borno

In a coordinated night air operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced that over 25 terrorists were killed. The operations took place in Bula, Yobe State, and the Banki area of Borno State.

The Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja.

Ejodame said the operations, carried out on September 18, followed credible intelligence provided by ground troops on terrorist movements in the area.

He explained that a force package of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) assets and strike aircraft tracked the targets and identified multiple terrorist groups north of Banki.

He said real-time updates were relayed to ground forces and base operations, enabling a synchronised offensive.

“The strike aircraft engaged the terrorists in three successive precision strikes on their movement routes and assembly areas, effectively neutralising more than 25 fighters.

“Post-strike surveillance confirmed ground forces remained in defensive positions, with no further threats observed,” Ejodame said.

The NAF spokesperson stressed that the operation demonstrated the Air Force’s unwavering commitment to supporting ground troops and securing Nigeria’s North-East.

He said the mission not only denied terrorists freedom of movement but also underscored NAF’s resolve to sustain pressure on criminal groups threatening the region.
