Fifty of the pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Catholic Private Primary and Secondary School in Niger State have escaped and been reunited with their families. The school was attacked two days prior by terrorists, who kidnapped a total of 303 pupils and students along with 12 teachers.
This was made known by the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese and Proprietor of the school, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna.
In a statement he issued to journalists on Sunday, Yohanna said the pupils, who went to their various homes, did not return to the school after they escaped from their abductors.
