Nigeria Super Eagles are fully prepared to battle with their Liberian counterpart Lone Stars today in Calabar, Cross Rivers, Nigeria.
The time is 4:00 PM today
Nigeria is fighting for ticket to play at the 2013 AFCON in South Africa. Nigerians expectation is very high, to many, we can’t afford to fail.
In an interview the Nigerian Tribune, Super Eagle’s former captain Nwankwo Kanu said the Liberians are good boasters. I remember in 2001 during a World Cup qualifier in Port Harcourt, they came threatening but were well beaten 2-0.
Today is not an exception. He predicted that the Eagles will win in spite of the noise being made by the Liberians.
President Goodluck Jonathan, who visited the team at their camp remind the Eagles that only a win would be good enough for him. Meanwhile Keshi and his team have promised to win the game by all means.
Former Liberian skipper Anthony Laffor who spoke with Nigerian Tribune said it will be tough to beat the Eagles in Calabar but it is possible. If we go hard on the Nigerians, they can be beaten. They have all the big names but they were not that convincing in the first leg.
