AD Guber Candidate Flay Oyo Govt Over Plan To Copy Lagos Master Plan

The gubernatorial candidate of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in the forthcoming 2019 governorship election in Oyo State, Engr Oyedele Hakeem Alao has described the media report that Oyo State is now understudying the Master Plan of Lagos State as ridiculous and laughable.

In a statement issued by the Head of Policy and Strategy, Oyedele Hakeem Alao Campaign Organisation, Lekan Salawu, Engr. Alao wondered why the government just woke up from its deep slumber few months to the expiration of its tenure.

“No doubt that Oyo State need a comprehensive master plan but it is worrisome that we have to copy everything from Lagos. Oyo State is totally peculiar in terms of geography and inhabitants as such we need home grown solutions to all our issues. Running to Lagos for everything is a confirmation of docility and laziness.”

Earlier in the week, while featuring on a radio interview in Ibadan, Engr. Alao had maintained that Oyo State need a Blueprint covering 20 years not just a Master Plan.

“What we need is a comprehensive blueprint for minimum of 20 years (2019-2039). The blueprint will detail government plans for economy, education, health, urban and physical planning and every other components of the state economy and development.”

The Alliance for Democracy (AD) is ready to convene a forum of critical stakeholders upon assumption of office in May 2019 to fine tune a workable blueprint for the state in other to fast rack economic growth and infrastructural development.
