NIIA, Research Intelligence Set to hold Symposium in Lagos

Research Intelligence Magazine in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) is organizing a one-day trade symposium, billed to commemorate with the 64th Independence Anniversary of South Korea. The event is scheduled to hold on the 15thof August, 2012 at the NIIA auditorium in Victoria Island.  
 
The Symposium will examine the dynamics underpinning the flow of trade between Nigeria and South Korea with a view to strengthen their existing relationship. Both Countries have maintained unrivalled fraternal relations over the years which have immensely contributed to the presence and growth of South Korea in Nigeria’s economy. It will also avail the Ambassadors of both countries an opportunity to share robust discourse, privileged information and future trade relations admits other distinguished and high profile audience.  
 
Research has shown that despite the non-availability of natural resources, the Korean economy has witnessed an unprecedented growth in recent times which is worth emulating. It is also the desire of Nigeria to replicate this extraordinary growth which is popularly referred to as the “Miracle of the Han River”. And given the abundant natural and human resources, Nigeria can also achieve greater dimensions of development. 
 
Furthermore, Nigeria is currently the most populous nation in Africa with an estimated population of 160 million people. The stable democratic governance in the Nigeria offers numerous investment opportunities to South Korea which is an industrial giant with notable achievements in high-tech, automobile, electronics, manufacturing, shipping, construction and telecommunications amongst others. And the presence of brands like Samsung, Hyundai and LG are testimonies of South Korea’s extensive investment in Nigeria. 
 
Finally, the symposium will create an opportunity for Nigerian businessmen and women to interact with their South Korean counterparts while engaging in quality deliberations on foreign policies, trade and investment as it affects both nations.
