Come Wednesday 30th April 2014 the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) will convenes its 6th Annual General Meeting. The 2014 edition of the meeting is the sixth of its kind, and thus, the 6th AGM. The event is slated to hold at the Function Room, MUSON Centre, 8/9 Marina, Onikan, Lagos. The meeting shall commence at 10.00 am.
In a statement signed by the Acting Secretary/Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Adebunmi Adeola Akinbo, noted that the necessary notice to members and the general public about the coming AGM has been published as required by the Constitution of the Association. He added that the 6thAGM has been duly announced on the NIRA website at: www.nira.org.ng, via the membership mailing list, some National Dailies, and through the Social Media.
According to the Acting COO noted the agenda for the 6th AGM include the following:
- The receipt of the Annual Report and Financial Statement for the year ended: December 2013, together with the Auditor’s Report;
- The receipt of a Business Plan and Budget for the period of the current financial year beginning January 1, 2014;
- And to consider such other business that any member properly brings before the meeting.
Mr. Akinbo further clarified that Registrants of .ng domains, Registrars, Stakeholder Associations, representatives of NITDA and other agencies of government, corporate and individual members, members of the respective Boards of NIRA, Life Patrons and members of the Press are expected at the meeting. He added that new members are welcome.
The Ag.COO emphasized pointedly that participation at the 6thAGM which holds on Wednesday, April 30, 2013 at the Function Room, The Muson Centre, Lagos, is open to all members of Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) while re-emphasizing that all members of the Association (individual and corporate members, alike) should ensure that they are in good financial standing with the Association.
Reiterating the date and venue of the events, Akinbo stressed that the AGM will hold at the Function Room, Muson Centre, 8/9 Marina, Onikan, Lagos on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.
