NNPC Limited, NNPCL, has confirmed media reports of substantial debt owed to petrol suppliers. This situation is placing significant financial pressure on the company and jeopardizing fuel supply.
This development was made known in a statement by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer NNPC Limited, Abuja, Olufemi Soneye on Sunday.
In line with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), NNPC Limited remains dedicated to its role as the supplier of last resort, ensuring national energy security.
We are actively collaborating with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders to maintain a consistent supply of petroleum products nationwide, the statement added.
