The former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has been announced as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Adamawa State defeating incumbent Governor of the state Ngilari.
He scored 688 votes to beat the seating governor Ngilari who scores 25 votes.
The election was held in Abuja. PDP electoral officer, Senator Rufai Hanger announced the results at the venue of the poll.
“My brothers and sisters, the true representatives of the people of Adamawa State, I am burdened by your choice this evening. I am challenged by it, said Ribadu in his acceptance speech.
“I extend my hand of friendship to all those who aspired for this ticket. I believe in our collective desire to make Adamawa peaceful and a prosperous place to proudly call home.” He added.

Meanwhile, the former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku lost to Alhaji Yusuf Agabi in the state.
Agabi scored 214 votes as against 160 votes by Maku.
