The Ogun State House of Assembly has passed a resolution urging the Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Works, to reconstruct the Ebute-Igbooro-Oja-Odan-Pobe International road, which connects Nigeria and the Republic of Benin.
The resolution, which was passed on Friday, followed a motion introduced by Wahab Haruna, the lawmaker for Yewa North II State Constituency, and seconded by Adegoke Adeyanju.
The motion was supported by all members through a voice vote.
Haruna, while praising the state government’s road infrastructure efforts, highlighted the importance of the road in strengthening regional diplomacy, trade, and the socio-economic development of the area.

He described it as a crucial route for tourism, international trade, and cross-border investment, which fosters socio-economic ties and cultural exchange. He called on the Federal Government to prioritise the road’s rehabilitation.
Tella also acknowledged the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Olamilekan Adeola in addressing the poor road network in the state.
