Ogun Police Recover Car of Murdered OGTV Broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku

The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the Lexus RX300 belonging to the late Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, a well-known retired broadcaster who worked with Ogun State Television (OGTV).

The top journalist, a Senior Programme Producer with OGTV, and her security guard were found dead at her residence in the Kobape area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, under circumstances that have sparked serious concern among residents.

But the Ogun State Police Command says it’s working hard to crack the circumstances surrounding the  two deaths. For instance, the police have recovered the journalist’s car which also went missing the same day their bodies were discovered.

Public Relations Officer of the Ogun Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed in a statement that the said the vehicle was recovered during a night operation and has since been secured as a critical exhibit in the ongoing investigation.

On Tuesday, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bode Ojajuni, visited the residence of the slain broadcaster, where she and her security guard were found dead.

“The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ogun State Police Command to unravel the mystery surrounding the tragic deaths and intensify investigations into the disturbing incident,” Babaseyi said in the statement.

During the on-the-spot assessment, Ojajuni inspected the premises and received detailed briefings from detectives handling the case, during which he reiterated the command’s determination to ensure that all those connected to the incident are apprehended and brought to justice.

The Police Commissioner expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and assured residents of Ogun State that the Command has deployed all available resources to track down the perpetrators.

Ojajuni announced that significant progress had been made in the investigation even as he promised to update the public as new facts emerge.

The deaths of the retired broadcaster and her security guard have generated concern among residents, with many calling for a swift and thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Channels Television reported that the police, during a search of the premises, found the corpse of the security guard within the security post while the broadcaster’s body was later found inside her apartment. The journalist’s Lexus jeep was also discovered missing from the premises during the search, according to Babaseyi in an earlier statement.
